Iranian photographer Hossein Fatemi, offers a glimpse of an entirely different side to Iran than the image usually broadcasted by domestic and foreign media. In his photo series An Iranian Journey, many of the photographs reveal an Iran that most people never see, presenting an eye-opening look at the amazing diversity and contrasts that exist in the country.
Very happy about this
Iran also has a huge classic muscle car/drag racing subculture, a really cool tabletop gaming culture (mostly based around centuries-old board games that have gotten modern updates) and an underground poetry and theatre scene that has to dodge the cops every time they do a show.
Basically, Iran is the really cool, smart kid who still has to live with their asshole parents who don’t let them out of the house.
